‘Mindfulness refers to keeping one’s consciousness alive to the present reality. It is the miracle by which we master and restore ourselves.’ – Thich Nhat Hanh, “the Miracle of Mindfulness
Mindfulness Drop in Sessions led by Dorcas Dillon, Tuesdays 7pm – 8pm, from January 9th 2024
The Mindfulness drop in sessions will provide an opportunity for us to come together as friends to
practice. Thich Nhat Hanh, who was a wonderful Zen Buddhist monk, peace activist and poet, often referred to the importance of the energy of fellow practitioners to help us to sustain our practice.
These sessions are open to all from beginner to the more experienced practioner. The first Tuesday of each month can be tailored to provide a more gentle introduction to those entirely new to meditation.
Overall, we will be revisiting the practices covered in the Mindfulness Based Living Course eg. the body-scan, Settling grounding resting, support of breath/sound, loving kindness and RAIN practices and we will be including some compassion practices also.
These wonderful practices provide an opportunity for us to learn to come home to ourselves and increasingly to be able to hold and befriend ourselves whatever arises for us externally and internally. You can contact me @ dorcas.dillon@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Looking forward to seeing you soon
